Little Green CapsuleA little green capsule sits upon a countertop
Alone and insignificant
Bland and boring
It stands on end like a little toy soldier
Ordinary and extroardinary at the same time
Small and yet capable of so much
If given the proper tools and conditions
It holds the power to save lives
And the power to take them
It is the ultimate cure
And the most devastating affliction
It stands there straight and tall
It beckons me
And draws me in
Within that little capsule lies the answer to my questions
Like an antidote to that which has poisoned me
Something to kill all the pain that you have caused

The one who gained my trust

The NumbersA thousand lies for a promise kept
A thousand tears my eyes have wept
A thousand times you tore me down
And a thousand more I hit the ground

A thousand wounds without repair
A thousand daggers in a malicious glare
A thousand scars that will never heal
From a thousand trips through the grinding wheel

A thousand steps I wearily take
With a thousand pounds on an ankle weight
A thousand links in a rusty chain
And a thousand miles more remain

A thousand nights I spent alone
A thousand pleas to a heart of stone
A thousand prayers to a God that cares not
For a thousand battles yet to be fought

I stand here with my palms pressed against the wall
And gaze longingly at those on the other side
The look on my face is one of desperation
A reflection of the internal chaos that plagues my being

I'm afraid I am imprisoned here
On the wrong side of the glass
screaming on the inside despite my outward silence

I was bored and it's almost Halloween... and this was a direct result of both. I used one of those little two dollar pumpkin carving kits. I broke one of the saws right in the middle of it so it was probably a bit more difficult than it should have been.
